Moving from Supporter to Initiator - the time is now

The Gender Action awards programme is excited to announce that we are again able to accept schools wishing to apply for Initiator and Champion Level.

The programme offers nurseries, schools and colleges opportunities to engage with gender equality through four accreditation levels. These involve challenging stereotypes in all aspects of the life of an education setting and are about far more than ticking boxes and jumping through hoops.
Participation needs commitment from everyone – staff, students, parents and governors. The whole-hearted support of your senior leadership team is vital.

From Support Level – Getting Started – the framework progresses through Initiator and Champion Levels to Beacon – Shining Lights – an indicator of best practice. The fees payable at each level reflect the input provided by Gender Action’s team of experts in education and gender equality. This includes support and guidance with the development of an Action Plan, whole-school training, and the assessment process.

The benefits to your setting are considerable and potentially life-changing for learners. Leading on from

the sharing of information and insights and the provision of staff training, you can achieve change across the whole setting and into the wider community.
